The safety of people and installations is crucial in the operation of nuclear power plants. Our product ranges dedicated to this industry meet these requirements and offer solutions at all stages of production: sampling of radioactive effluents in glove boxes, supply of breathing air lines for intervention in contaminated areas, fluid transfer operations, utility fluid supply, electrical supply to actuator valves on reactor emergency shutdown circuits.

The hot laboratories dedicated to the examination and evaluation of irradiated fuels, and to studies on process radiochemistry and fuel cycles require reliable and innovative fluid connections. Stäubli offers connection solutions for transferring process solvents into shielded cells, and for the supply of powder to fire extinguishing lines, compressed air and neutral gases, and breathing air to contaminated areas. We also offer mono- and multi-connections for operation by manipulator arms.

The requirements for the remediation and dismantling of nuclear installations at the end of their operation are a major challenge for the future. Stäubli connections provide an optimal and appropriate response. We offer reliable and proven solutions for each stage. This includes filling, draining and venting of liquid effluents, electrical signal and power transmission for waste package machines and cooling lines for waste vitrification ovens as well as the high-pressure tools used in dismantling operations. We also provide connections for the vacuum and gas inerting used to test the tightness of casks in hot cells, and for the tightness control process and checking of radioactivity levels prior to opening containers.
