Food industry

Boost productivity and efficiency while reducing contamination

Food industry

Robot-based automation solutions in the food industry

The food industry and supply chain has to reach high standard in term of safety, Reliability and economic performance. In addition, a prolonged shortage of skilled workers is a major problem. Automation offers a clear solution. Customized robotic systems for a wide range of tasks in primary and secondary processing and packaging area provide viable, cost-effective options to industry challenges.

Hygienic design solutions with high performance that also deliver in terms of flexibility and safety are in demand in the food industry. Dynamics and precision are also key factors – which Stäubli robots master with confidence. Whether six-axis or SCARA, Stäubli  food grade robot HE type  cover the requirements for each of your process steps. We are happy to assist you with the automation of all handling, pick & place, packaging and palletizing processes.

Sub-industries

Five prerequisites for robots to meet user needs:

1. Hygienic design

Contamination with bacteria must be avoided, especially in the case of direct contact with unwrapped food.

2. Food-grade oil

To avoid the risk of contamination in case of accidental lubricant leakage, the oil used must be food grade type.

3. Pressurization

By pressurizing the robot arm, the ingress of microorganisms can be prevented.

4. Wash-down compatibility

Daily intensive cleaning of all system components is a vital factor in ensuring food quality.

5. Robot portfolio

The manufacturing process. In food production, there is not just a single process, but a complex workflow from the first step through secondary packaging.
