ZeroBolt busbar connections for efficient on-board power distribution

Busbars set the benchmark for connecting key internal components within high-voltage powertrain assemblies, inclusive of inverters and motors. Stäubli’s ZeroBolt busbar connections benefit from our extensive experience in electrical contact technologies and are designed to address the issues typically associated with traditional bolted connections. They incorporate Stäubli's unique MULTILAM technology, enabling high current carrying capacity while also compensating for thermal expansion and vibration resistance. The flexibility of ZeroBolt’s pluggable design streamlines manufacturing, and significantly reduces costs and risks when compared to traditional bolted connections.


Stäubli’s pluggable ZeroBolt busbar connections are the ideal solution for the most demanding blind-mating applications in wet- and dry environments and are suitable for a broad power range.

ZeroBolt enables tolerance compensation in up to three directions, achieving highest performance for a broad power range and therefore under thermal expansion.

Stäubli solutions are famous for high current carrying capacity within a small space and feature plugged connections, therefore eliminating the need for bolts and fasteners, and resulting in less space constraints due to tool operation.

  • ZeroBolt connections eliminate the need for torque control associated with bolted busbars and eyelets. This on one hand reduces costs and cycle times due to no upfront cost (CAPEX) and a simpler installation process (lower OPEX), on the other hand it also supports potential automated assembly.
